The time on the dial shadow is about 1345. My wife used her Pro Nikon and hasn’t set her clock so can’t verify

A hand forged gnomon-less sundial, i.e. lacks a typical gnomon. The chasing on the dial plate are a Wild Mountain Rose and the Colorado Columbine that grow on the side of our caldera.

Two new dial plates for the equatorial sundials. The copper will eventually be trimmed and sandwiched by the mild steel. The layers will then be riveted together and mounted at the proper latitude angle

Forging hinge leafs for the dial plates. The hinge allows the angle of the dial plate to be adjusted to account for a change in latitude

Neighbor asked me to forge a Rapper Iron for weaving willows. Didn’t have a clue what it was but, since I’m a blacksmith, I said sure. So this is what came out in the end. Comes in at 0.9kg, similar to other rapper irons

A simple kiridashi. Is used by woodworkers for accurate marking and simply whittling on the porch. It is a basic utility knife around the shop or home and is also used for bonsai grafting.
