I'm trying to set up a business for event spaces. The Business license process in Chicago is actually Despicable. i have tons of wherewithal and resources to be able to do this and even then it's an uphill battle. I have no idea how any poor people in this city could ever start a business.

Logan Square and Humboldt park are easily the biggest failures on this list. Nearly every other neighborhood in their vicinity on this graph is a place people don't want to live anymore. To be some of the most in demand neighborhoods and losing the most population is actually insane.
Since 2000, Chicago's population is -140k while households are +19k. Here's what that looks like at the Community Area level.

To me the three stories here are:

- The Downtown population boom

- The household neutral, population negative-to-neutral middle

- The Lake View/Logan Square dichotomy

For my Chicago folks, I'm looking at city employee salaries and I noticed Some of these asst to the alderman's are getting paid more than the alders. Was wondering if anyone knew

1. Where does this money come from and can the alder's pick any salary?
2. Where can I find their wards?
