Gaben has moved on from video games entirely. He doesn't fund small game developers that are making cool shit and he doesn't have an ongoing philanthropy footprint. Look closely and he's just another billionaire that seems to desperately need every single dollar that comes his way.

4) I enjoy a gaben meme from time to time, but what has he done with his billions that the above fuckery has contributed to? He owns and lives on a literal fleet of yachts, he owns a full on yacht company, and he started a brain-computer interface startup called Starfish Neuroscience.

3) Steam absolutely should not be charging developers 30% across the board. Small game makers should only be paying them between 5% & 15%. Even AAA games shouldn't have to pay more 20% in my opinion.

How many games could have been better, or didn't get made at all because 30% went to Valve?

2) The gambling mechanics in CS2 genuinely suck. They're just as cynical as in most other free to play titles the community rake over the coals for it. But for some reason CS2 gets a pass.

Not to mention the huge ACTUAL gambling industry that surrounds the game as described in detail here:

1) If you've ever looked at the discussions attached to games you know how much of a rotten cesspool those can be. This is not okay. In fact the ADL reported that,

As far as performance goes it is very heavy and in my opinion the graphics don't earn it. It's handsome enough otherwise. I've long stopped expecting bleeding edge visuals from Obsidian.
