If "the PC" moves to ARM or any other architecture I suspect the industry will do everything they can to abandon modularity. SOCs, RAM, and storage will all be soldered in mini PC like designs. Basically an ewaste hellscape. I'm hopeful that this future will be rejected.

It's funny how easy it was for Steam to win the battle of the digital marketplaces. They just had to A) Be the first one and then B) Barely maintain a product that people like using. Pretty easy for a perfect company like Valve...

...oh wait.

Maybe I just hadn't been paying as much attention but numbers like this still surprise me. I wish I could look back to see how we ended up here (here meaning steam doubling both consoles).

Somebody reviewing a type of game that has yet to click for them with a truly open mind can be a very useful thing. The truly open mind part being rather important. As long as they let you know that this is where they're coming from, perhaps in the first paragraph.

ARC Raiders. First run got gunned down by the first person I saw. Well, he saw me really. Maybe the bright red hair was a mistake. Second run looted a bunch, saw nobody else, then extracted without firing my weapon once 🤷

All the original in universe songs in The Outer Worlds 2 are pretty nuts. I'd watch an hour long documentary just about putting these together.

I love that Daemon Tools is still in active development.

The idea that any company would buy or merge with the absolutely cursed doll that is Warner Bros in 2025 is hilarious to me.

The Outer Worlds 2 is a solid enough one of these. Although progression seems oddly constrained. I went a few hours in my last big play session without even getting a level up. I don't love staring at much higher skill requirements than I have for certain actions, even with skills I'm focusing on.

I'm delighted to see that Dispatch is a huge hit.

Just credit every person who helped make the thing. That's the whole point of credits.

The new "Xbox" is introducing a whole new group of people to the joys of Windows 11 on a handheld. Welcome to the pain!

Here's how I deal with it: plug that bastard into proper PC peripherals for 4+ hours of setup. Update everything, clean up the OS, install and configure all your games...

Looking forward to a chill lights off sound up Keeper playthrough.

This Dodgers vs Mariners World Series is increasingly likely. It's going to feel like my old life colliding with my current one isn't it.

The new Pokemon only cost 13m dollars to make because they don't respect you the player enough to put out a refined product that lives up to its potential. Nor do they respect their developers who have likely been working long thankless hours for years on shit salaries.

The game Mixtape isn't coming out this year after all is it?

Some brief technical thoughts on Little Nightmares 3 after only about 20 minutes with it so far. Its generally very performant. No HDR in the initial build which is becoming all too common. I don't love how it stutters when transitioning zones. Will play more tomorrow.

The whole, "you have to play this game 4 times to get the whole story" thing can fuck right off. I have 70 other things to play this month.

Will The Last Guardian ever get a PC port or even a PlayStation remaster? Probably not.

Is The Last Guardian running emulated on PC in 4k right now? Yes.

Gaming-Only journalists and analysts are pretty accurately calling this EA acquisition what it is: a doomed idea that will cause untold human misery and kill the company and probably bury all its IPs

Tech/Gaming Journalists keep trying to find a silver lining. Huh. Curious. Strange. Odd. Quirky.

I like everything about the 8bitdo Ultimate controllers except for the aggressively vertical ergonomics. It really is a shame.

@janochoa.bsky.social Please have more women on the Bombcast. Samantha Kalman, Lex Luddy, and Bailey Meyers would all be great staples.

Hello! I am a reporter from TheGamer who likes Dragon Age + Mass Effect a whole lot. If you have ever worked on the series/have some links to it, and wouldn't mind commenting on EA's acquisition by investing groups run by Saudi Arabia's crown prince and Jared Kushner, please get in touch!
