I’m a geologist and creator of things.
Yes, sadly we have burnt 30 million years of coal in just 100 years and then there is petroleum and natural gas on top of that. We will need something a bit faster than 800,000 to change things.

The "azolla event" took place about 49 Mya and for 800,000 years, blooms of azolla helped drive carbon levels down to reverse the PETM greenhouse and bring Earth into our current ice age. Very happy to add them to the Geology Timeline Project.

Fabulous. As someone who was always interested in the natural world growing up it’s so strange that it took me so long to figure out it was something I could work in.

It’s a Minecraft program that lets you do large edits to a world and then export them instead of editing in the game. I just know how to do a few things in it to make the mountains.

I actually did that is the igneous rocks video. I forget what scale it was and I didn’t know how to use world painter so it’s not great but it is to scale.

Looks cool! I thought about trying to match texture to real life but this is only a few minutes of a video and decided it was good enough and not let myself take forever on it. Don’t know the method for google earth. Are you using blender to convert a model to structure or something?

Thanks June, I’m actually impressed how well it looks too. I might make the map available because it’s fun to elytra down from the peek.

I did it from the DEMs. There is one meter resolution available for the range, trimmed in QGIS then used world painter.

I mean, they have and an outfit called baguette that you get from fighting mimes and the Eiffel Tower is prominent. So probably a oui oui but almost a sacre bleu.
