Los Angeles residents were outraged after dozens of federal agents marched through MacArthur Park, in one of the city’s most immigrant-heavy neighborhoods. True story:

I went to SMU because I watched their 30 for 30 doc when applying to grad schools.

They let me in thanks to a Chicano professor from Long Beach.

I was unprepared for SMU and grad school. Nearly flunked out my 1st semester because I couldn’t write.

Thats how I started writing.

Urban History folks! I'm helping a filmmaker with a documentary about Urban renewal in White Plains. She asked for examples of churches sponsoring housing projects in UR areas. I know of one in Newburgh and Black and Puerto Rican groups in Rochester, but would love to learn about others. Thanks
