In some commercial spaces the rent is a flat fee plus a % of sales. If the rent is low this may help a small biz get into a storefront. But if it’s high…Also, if the property owner doesn’t think you’ll bring in extra $$, they won’t rent to you. This shuts out new businesses w/out a sales history.

He has no clue how it works. Let's start w/the basic logistics. Who has the time to negotiate premiums? Has he ever tried to contest a denial for coverage? Does he know how much time that takes? And will insurance cos be hiring a bunch of reps to take care of all of this one-on-one negotiation?

Damn. Also thinking about all the folks, probably public health folks, who enrolled in the NIH All of Us study. That personal health data, including DNA, was freely shared in the name of science. Participants believed in research ethics. That data is now possibly at risk of being misused.
