Another example of Dem leaders abandoning their constituents, hoping to curry favor from Republicans & funders. Placing the life of a misogynistic, homophobic racist on a pedestal is a losing move. It’s self-serving & disrespectful. They’ve lost focus.

Brendan Carr pretty much admitted on Squawk this morning that the FCC is operating outside of its scope and putting its thumb on views available on broadcast stations. Who has access primary to broadcast? Also, FCC should not care whether a show is profitable. Not its job.

This “rebrand” is unnecessary & expensive. Signage, letterhead, business cards, maps, recruitment materials, websites, new photos, etc. And if it ends up in court…Funds better used for food, housing, & medicine. All in an effort to feed one man’s ego at the expense of a nation.

RFK claims that CDCs Office on Smoking & Health has not addressed vaping in youth. Shows his lack of knowledge. Look at FDA regulations & the money behind big tobacco lobbyists, locally & nationally. We've been down this road before w/tobacco. Follow the money. Who gets $$$ & how do they vote?

A move to make it harder for people w/disabilities to get a job. Republicans say they want people to “pull themselves up by their bootstraps” while they cut the bootstraps off.
Why go to school?
Ahh. That’s the point. Education for the few. Success for the few. Everyone else is disposable.

We were taking the shuttle (school bus) back to our car after the Darius Rucker concert. A woman boarded the packed bus & looked around. “There are empty rows in back”, I offered. We were in the first row of seats. She leaned over us “In the back of the bus? But I’m white! Whiter than white white!”

The cruelty & absolute disregard for humanity. They would rather waste the money & the food, letting people starve, then admit they were wrong. DODGE was reckless & the consequences were not considered. Even easier for them because the people being denied food are brown. American Exceptionalism.

We rank 36th in literacy in the world. 54% of adults have a literacy level below 6th grade. 66% of those were U.S. born. 21% of adults are illiterate.
I guess they think only immigrant truckers will fail.

Watched The Mauritanian last night. History repeating. Only in this case, the administration can deny culpability for anything that happens to the illegally detained while in CECOT.

So do republicans, the party of supposedly traditional values, realize that women will no longer take a man’s surname if they get married? So that their name always matches their birth certificate, for voting purposes. Just thinking about the future.

Has anyone seen a chart comparing our trade deficit with all countries and the new tariffs? (Who is excluded from tariffs). Or a chart of actual tariffs imposed on the USA compared with new tariffs. I know this data is industry dependent so not straightforward. Looking for the data. TIA #tariffs

This is horrific. It’s not surprising that Trump has cut funding for this vital project. He has his own history of separating families at the border, with no tracking of the children. I expect there will be more www.splcenter.org/resources/st...

No one should be writing and releasing a book while serving in an elected position. Focus on the job the people elected you to do. Not padding your bank account.

This is in part, a warped retaliation for renaming bases & removing statues of confederate generals. It is, also, a real attempt to remove traces of any achievements by veterans who are black or brown , female, gay, transgender or living w/a disability. Combine this w/control of libraries & schools…
This is blood-boiling. Charles Rogers was awarded the Medal of Honor in Vietnam after being wounded three times leading the defense of a position.

Google his name and the entry below comes up. When you click, you'll see the page has been deleted and the URL changed to include "DEI medal."

This is what a beautiful marriage looks like. Adults who love each other & want to build a life together, who are committed to & care for each other. Why would we ever deny any couple the chance to marry & enjoy the rights & recognition that come w/it? #idleg www.idahostatesman.com/news/politic...

Listening to the hearing on HJM1, Idaho's effort to invalidate same sex marriage. Heather Scott stated she does not believe marriage is a right. She stated that it's not the Feds job to say what is legal in Idaho. However, there are many state and federal benefits that married couples receive.

A list of revoked Executive Orders. These actions were well planned and happening fast! We need to be diligent in tracking. There will be a lot of noise to distract.
This is a thread meant to be useful to nerds. Here is Trump's list of revoked Executive Orders. I am about to make a thread with links to all of them. (Why should anyone else have to repeat this work?)

This is huge! Anyone who’s experienced a health emergency knows that so many bills come. It’s easy to miss a payment, affecting your credit score. Low credit can impact a person’s approval to rent a home, own a car or even get a job making it hard to get back on your feet. Thank you Biden-Harris!
Even at the end, the Biden-Harris administration continue to work for the benefit of the American people. I will miss having actual leadership.
