Arthur Goldhammer’s “Shooting War”
Arthur Goldhammer’s brilliant novel Shooting War doesn’t have a subtitle, but if it did my recommendation would be “Coming of Age in the American Empire.”

I am afraid neither Netenyahu's political career nor the Abraham Accords and sadly the bipartisan consensus here on Israel will survive this war. Iran's proxy Hamas laid a trap for Israel and the Abraham Accords signatories. Netanyahu walked straight into it.

Under Rules of War, ‘Proportionality’ in Gaza Is Not About Evening the Score
The concept, important for determining the legality of an act of war, is about weighing civilian harm against military objectives, not about achieving a balanced number of casualties.

A blueprint reviewed by The Times laid out the attack in detail. Israeli officials dismissed it as aspirational and ignored specific warnings.

Israel’s war on Gaza has been unending horrors and devastation, but it’s hard to get past the largely uncovered forced abandonment and death of five premature babies at Al-Nasr Hospital. HRW spared you the soul-searing pictures which were all over social media.
