It's fun to learn about what's going on in different regions and how much carryover there is or isn't. My late mom's people are from Texas, and my late dad's people are from MS, but Mom lived in KS, AZ, and we're also Black Native, so our food traditions are mixed, which is great, to be candid.

my manager didn't even know how to make one. me? i knew what it was, just had never made one. the customer was taken aback that I got it right the first time. you could tell that he wanted to impress his pals. i made it and then moved to the other side of the bar to cuss him out under my breath.
