This German Qur'an translation, allegedly by one Muhammad Abdallah (what a totally not AI-generated super-un-generic Muslim name!), is 100% identical to the result you get if you enter Marmaduke Pickthall's Qur'an translation into DeepL. Isn't this a weird coincidence? 😜

Great turnout and atmosphere at the opening of our GloQur - The Global Qur'an exhibition. The guests enjoyed the opportunity to ask questions and have drinks and Syrian snacks with us. The exhibition will be open until April 5 and we offer guided tours in 10 languages!

The first was a comprehensive, annotated commentary titled ‘The Holy Qur'an with English Translation and Commentary’, published in three volumes between 1947 and 1963. This work spans more than 2,900 pages and includes approximately 5,000 footnotes.

He studied at the Forman Christian College in Lahore and joined the Ahmadiyya movement in 1897. Over the years, he served in various capacities within the movement, eventually becoming the assistant editor of ‘The Review of Religions’ in 1909.

A key factor in their rise was the publication of Sher Ali’s English translation in 1955, which became a template for many subsequent Ahmadi translations. Sher Ali was born in a small village near Sargodha, in the Punjab province of Pakistan.

Usually, the history of Muhammad Asad’s (1900–1992) Qur'an translation is dated back to the publication of the complete edition in 1980, while the 1st, partial version (comprising the first 9 suras), printed in 1964, has become a bibliographical rarity. Learn more here: gloqur.de/quran-transl...
