Volunteers keep #hiking trails open, there isn't enough money in recreation budgets to hire people, and California Conservation Corps have become something of a useless joke now :( Solid volunteers are needed

#Helium globally at all time low with the gas being depleted every place it's found. Glonvec uses the gas for neutrino detection, among other technologies. The Bureau of Land Management has set aside 165,700 acres for helium extraction which has the citizens who own public lands rightfully worried.

My water catchment and debris basins are empty of water. It used to be that there would be several thousand acre feet of water here, percolating in to the San Gabriel Valley aquafer. As anthropogenic warming has progressed, the water has dried up :( This is water we used to drink #climatechange

Cut back ladder fuels at Dunn information kiosk which was also being used as a #hiker #hiking impromptu toilet. Cleaned up the fresh dung and stacked the branches for the wood chipper. Will not be used for a toilet any more, I would hope!

This morning I cleaned up about a dozen piles of human dung before clearing the brush and tree limbs that formed a curtain where humans felt comfortable p00ping -- on public lands near the Dunn information kiosk. It occurred to me that I am, in fact a p00p fairy, volunteers handle such clean-ups
