The African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR) has issued a clear warning.

Bilateral migration deals that shift responsibility for asylum and migration governance onto African States risk "serious human rights violations."

In October, #Kosovo was in talks with the #UK to host rejected asylum seekers as part of “return hubs” abroad. The #US & #Denmark have also made deals with the country–part of a global trend of outsourcing migration controls, which experts call high-risk for human rights.

🚨 Earlier this month, the U.S deported 5 migrants to #Eswatini - where they were placed in solitary confinement. This appears to violate UN Convention against Torture—the U.S. State Dept itself has documented torture & extrajudicial killings there.
