This. THIS. Normie friends always mention how furries must be rich to buy art and suits (and like any demographic, I'm sure *a few* are) but for most it's a passion that they work hard and save for, and they *value artwork and artists*.
This fandom has a reputation for being "suspiciously wealthy" but the truth is most furries just love and value art and people so much that they want to use their money for art and supporting artists so they can make a living doing what they love. It's a cycle of genuine passion I think.

WAIT OMG I just realized so Shela is canonically in the main story, 23 years old.
I made her when I was 8 years old, meaning she actually turned 23 this year ;A; Aaaa I wish I'd realized sooner!! (Now to lose my mind knowing my OC is old enough to legally drink in the US)

the only good thing about genAI is that it got me to really love seeing bad art, because I know a person put in time and effort, made themselves vulnerable by showing it to others, and is trying to improve. I value that more than anything now
