anyway yeah, idk. but i do appreciate the people who make the effort to call us by our individual names. some don't even bother. despite using our plural proxies on discord with them. some i suppose can be excused, bc some don't call people by name to their face to begin with

sometimes i wonder if its worth being out plural like this, if there is even any point to it, in this kind of world we live in. the huge amount of friction it is to live true to yourself when "yourself" is so far from the visible norm and the norm that the world is predominantly designed around

i would love it if people/companies stopped using "AI" to buzzword brand things that have nothing to do w/genAI & LLMs. for what might be small scale ML, or hell even just simple algorithms. i hate even more that "AI" itself has become poison term, but that's how it is. capitalising on this just,

you will probably see a shift in how we run main soon. the roses are kinda changing things up on how we want to be online. tho we are going to consult a few folks about it- (from a social responsibility pov. not a social media engagement one. that's not why we're here)

anyway, i have find that much of the ppl i followed back on fedi are on blacksky now. our fedi instance has been very broken lately. with everyone too burnt out to deal with it. apparently val wants to look into it. but it really is refreshing to see these ppl on the tl again

frustrated bc white ppl just react. and they react only when it affects them. and thus they jump into things and know nothing about their established history beyond what only white ppl have said, unable to accept that entire realities have been cleansed/erased, bc it's too much-

i miss cohost, and the fediverse. it was far easier to write long form like that, and continue to iterate on it and refine it, even after going from draft to published state. and there wasn't the same scary sense of permanence. no room for any of that here

eh, too raw for social media. i will screencap, and delete thread, and throw into our diary obsidian and see if i can't reason about this mess better. i think i've at least gotten closer to what i'm trying to express. but its still a mess and not quite there

i still see tech people constantly shit on spreadsheets. the fact remains that they're a very approachable freeform way of collecting/organising data, general purpose, structured or unstructured, easy to iterate on. becoming a "power user" and discovering things like VLOOKUPs is also not far away

ok yeah, being back on there, i feel more at home on fediverse with unlimited char limit again. and pillbug (cohost-esque inspired client), though quite buggy and rough around the edges, seems nice enough to use.

i think i got rather annoyed at people being harassed off the platform by the community, accused ableist for being even a little critical, blanket told "well why don't YOU make a website then", when often waas coming from a place of wanting to improve or help find ways to set it up for success

i have too many issues with cohost to feel comfortable wearing the "i was on cohost" badge on my bio, or our bio on main. but do ppl generally look at it as a kind of badge of social trust? (which idk how i feel about either)

i should probably like, provide some context as to what we are reposting (on main). but hopefully federation / decentralisation catches on enough here that ppl will reconsider the idea of AP/fedi in the future
