The Honorable Charles E. Schumer Majority Leader, United States Senate 322 Hart Senate Office Building Washington, D.C. 20510 Dear Senator Schumer, 
 As a fellow American, I urge you to vote NO on both Cloture and the Republican spending bill. Americans will have YOUR back—along with every single Democrat who takes a stand and votes “NO” on both. The Republicans have put forth a Continuing Resolution (CR) that silences every single Democrat and, by extension, the voices of millions of constituents. That is why Democrats must respond with one voice: "NO VOICE. NO CHOICE." This is more than just a procedural vote. By offering Democrats no real say, Republicans are forcing your hand. If Democrats have no voice in the process, they have no choice but to vote NO. Let the Republicans own this. Do not bail them out. Yes, this may result in a shutdown, but the responsibility for that must rest entirely on them—not on those they silenced. To do otherwise would undermine Democratic strength and further embolden Republicans, Trump, and corporate power at the expense of the American people. The world is watching. Ordinarily, I would encourage bipartisanship. But these are extraordinary times. We must take a stand. We, the people, are making our voices heard through protests. Now, we ask you to do the same by standing for what is right. I ask you to recall the day you took your oath of office—to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, and to faithfully discharge your duties. This is that moment. A vote other than NO is a vote against that oath. Defend Medicaid. Vote NO on Cloture. Vote NO on the bill. We have your back. Please have ours.
