Meanwhile, “flattening” Gaza would entail the war crime of extensive & wanton destruction.
Occupying Gaza indefinitely would violate Israel’s obligation to end its presence as rapidly as possible, per the ICJ’s 2024 opinion. 2/2

It is a necessary condition. But the legitimate representative of the Palestinian people formally accepted the State of Israel. Another condition is that Israel takes steps to facilitate the creation of a Palestinian State within the 1967 borders.
