To wrap up the term, in my human rights course we analyzed a word cloud generated from our semester’s readings. In a world where institutions are tested daily, these concepts aren’t abstract. They highlight debates over sovereignty, accountability, and the role of nations in a fractured world. 🌐

The findings of our conjoint experiment indicate that both journal attributes and individual characteristics impact the choice of journal, including factors such as language, editorial location, and acceptance rates.

Thanksgiving weekend came with a paper acceptance in International Studies Perspectives 🥳! In this paper, with Florencia Montal & Patricio Yamin, we examined the journal selection strategies employed by IR scholars in the Global South.

The other interesting region (although not competitive) was Asia and the Pacific: 4 seats & 4 candidates. Although all 4 had their place in the Council secured, it’s interesting the different level of support each country received: China was the country with the lowest support of all.
