But I think planting some native trees along with ginkgo trees is good as well there are many amazing native trees in my area like Cercis canadensis and honey locust and black walnut trees and so on. This is coming from someone who loves native plants. I have an entire wild garden of native species.

Ginkgo trees are also drought resistant when established and as a tree they of course help to cool an area down with shade and transpiration. And birds can still nest in ginkgo trees and moss and lichens can grow on them as well.

I understand how you feel I think native trees are very important too I think it’s best to plant both ginkgo trees are actually endangered in the wild. Also while ginkgo trees don’t provide as much to wildlife the seeds are often eaten by squirrels and many other animals.

Ginkgo trees while not native are not invasive they simply grow way to slow to compete with most native trees and also I don’t see why we can’t grow both ginkgo trees and native trees we can do both also ginkgo trees are native to China and endangered in the wild!

While not native to most areas they are actually endangered in the wild and planting a few here and there isn’t gonna hurt anything. I think it’s possible to grow ginkgos and native trees together. And that’s coming from someone who loves native plants!
