When will the completion grants be brought back for red seal trades? Young people can’t afford to go back to school to finish their training without these grants.

I know of several people who contacted your office with concerns about the Queen St location. Perhaps the fact that you did not provide an opportunity for public consultation before going ahead with these have contributed to the “easy” setups? Residents are frustrated.

Glad to hear other communities are stepping up & hopefully that continues. As residents of Centretown, we’re exhausted from being the backstop whenever others don’t do their part. We all deserve a safe place to live, newcomers and current residents included.

…and a block away from Parliament and our main tourist/financial area. Hopefully it’s a success, otherwise you’ve created a situation that will have far reaching effects.

There needs to be supports in every part of the city. Centralizing everything in the core doesn’t work and causes our downtown to be a less desirable area to live or visit. The city relies on tourism dollars and we must prioritize maintaining a welcoming environment here.

A good idea, but in an unfortunate location. Let’s see similar setups outside of the downtown core.

What is being done about the stolen bike chop shop currently being run at Somerset West Community Health Centre?

Please do not relocate this to downtown.

Kids dt have very few safe places to play. Adding alcohol is a bad idea. Why do we constantly put the needs of a few ahead of the many? There are so many more important things to be done & this will inevitably end in more problems for those of us who are already frustrated with life in the core.

Have you actually ever had to find street parking? Can you imagine living downtown and having to drive around block after block looking for somewhere to park after a long day at work? What about if you’ve got kids, or groceries to carry in? Not everyone who lives downtown also works there.

We all, regardless of circumstances, have a right to feel safe in our communities. More policing in Centretown is necessary.
April 15, 2025 at 10:54 PM
We need additional policing, especially in the Byward Market and Centretown. Increase the OPS budget and empower police to do the job they’ve trained for.

Why is your solution always to increase the financial burden on already cash-strapped families? Are you under the false impression that we have extra money that we have no use for, except to contribute to the city in the form of more taxes?? You need to look for an alternative, we’re tapped out.

“Better” office space is subjective. Agree to disagree on this egregious waste of tax payer money.
January 21, 2025 at 6:28 PM
This redesign is ridiculous. Adding office space when we have empty bldgs downtown, public gathering space between 2 bldgs (where no sun will reach) vs growing the bistro idea-shows little insight to what public actually wants. Also, building an office bldg across from Parliament=safety issues

Agreed, it is a shame. But given that reality, let’s focus on the positives and hope that he gets a wide Canadian audience so more people get to know him and what he brings to the table as an alternative to what feels more and more like the inevitable PP government

I thought he did great on the program. Showed lots of humour and charisma. Not sure why all the flack about it being an American show - wasn’t PP recently on Rogan?
