Lotta words here to say "I am a Republican, actually"

John Roberts has had a profoundly malignant impact on America and deserves far more recognition for that than he currently gets.

I didnt realize that CA pulled the trigger mechanism out of Prop 50, which means itll go forward even if the Texas maps stay struck down. Absolutely hilarious. Republicans have on one to blame for this but themselves.

A reminder of what the NYT actually finds to be a punishable offense bc they are not an org dedicated to upholding the tenets of democracy or journalistic ideals, they interest is in defending the status, positions, & reactionary goals of the already powerful.
November 14, 2025 at 6:45 PM
Boy it sure is interesting how news orgs frame breaking news chyrons like this in a way that gives the opposite impression of whats going on than it should. Reading this you'd have no idea Trump is deeply implicated in Epsteins crimes & is trying to desperately to distract from that.
November 14, 2025 at 5:19 PM
Flippant remarks like this come from a place of believing that the only way we win back men os by leaning into their bigotries, which apparently starts with letting a guy that kept a nazi tattoo on his chest for 18 years & said bigoted things online for years be the Democratic senatorial nominee.
November 14, 2025 at 4:09 PM
I've been vocal in my criticism of both Schumer and Durbin but you cannot point to either Senate Dem leadership or Yes on the CR votes on this map for next years senate races bc they dont exist. Who are they gonna primary?
November 11, 2025 at 1:20 AM
btw, to point out something that might not be obvious, but they do not have "November and December" to work on this. November is nearly half over and the remaining days the House is slated to be in session in Nov will be for the CR. December has a grand total of 12 days where the House is in session

Its actually bad for a political party when they do bad & unpopular things that voters hate & will respond negatively to.
November 10, 2025 at 12:22 PM
Gonna repeat this from last night: whatever you think of the deal, Republicans getting their wish to kill healthcare subsidies is the opposite of "insulating Republicans from political consequences" or "letting them off the hook."

Me contemplating whether or not to throw a delicious chopped cheese at a fed
November 7, 2025 at 12:03 AM
It is funny to me that a lot of both Mamdanis supporters & detractors have looked at his success & just said "social media" & ignored the fact that the man ran a relentless juggernaut of a gotv operation. He & his campaign were *everywhere* in the city in a way Cuomo couldnt be bothered with.
November 5, 2025 at 6:18 PM
Also please note how intellectually dishonest AtlasIntel is in the wake of their polls shitting the bed. Not only do they wave away completely botching NJ-Gov but they laughably try to claim that a poll that was too favorable too Cuomo was the most accurate! This is a shitty org run by dishonest ppl

Guessing this is an error from the NYT lol

Behold, the expert predictive quality of election betting markets. They can tell you a thing will happen right when everyone else figures out it will!
November 5, 2025 at 12:50 AM
Not even gonna give it the dignity of a quote post bc of how nakedly trolly this is, but this is a great ex of how much news media elites have broken their brains over Mamdani & are trying hard to put their thumbs on the scale in terms of framing him negatively & trying to gin up intra-D rancor.
November 4, 2025 at 2:14 PM
I was actually thinking this too in terms of how to consider what another big polling miss underestimating Mamdani would be about. NYC seldom has elections worth polling heavily so the fact that this is an extremely diverse city--linguistically in particular--flies under the radar as a challenge.
November 4, 2025 at 3:06 AM
Here comes the last minute wave of slop from junk pollsters. Pushing out junk they claim they claim was in the field *today* but they nevertheless got put together quickly enough for a last minute release. Cant use your "polls" as clickbait if you dont get em out before election day starts!
