I want to read an engaging book on the English Civil War or the Wars of the Three Kingdoms, with info about the New Model Army/Levellers etc. Anyone got a recommendation?

1 of the 3 weather apps on my phone said it would snow this morning & I thought that was ridiculous. Yet… it's snowing.

Can't think why I can't find the specs of the sleeping bag I've owned since about 1994 on the internet. It only predates Google by 4+ years.

Son gaming and on a group call last night:
Friend 1: we need to finish this tomorrow.
Friend 2: I've got Scouts tomorrow. Can we do [Weds]?

The conversation went on, but I enjoyed that they all go to Scouts but different groups.

So I've now seen the live action Moana trailer. It's hard to see the live action but through all the CGI. It looks 95% still animated. It was pointless to remake anyway, but do they not think kids can tell the difference between something that looks realistic and something that's clearly CGI?

You know the phrase about doing the same thing over & over and expecting a different result? That's me with my new phone screen protector. I keep jabbing at Xs on ads, buttons on apps or swiping in all directions, hoping my phone will realise I've done something.

Googling how to write faster as my son's handwriting is illegible & it's partly because he doesn't have enough time to write neatly. ALL the results are about writing books etc, eg 'don't look at the screen when you type'. Very helpful. Well done, internet.

Early September, I looked for somewhere streaming South Park in the UK & the answer was nowhere. I've just noticed it's currently available on NowTV, but only for another 11 days. Did they only pay to show it for a month?! They've got 21 series on there! Although I did notice a few eps are missing.

Horrendous weather outside. I've decided no one's going to be trick-or-treating tonight so I won't bother decorating or buying the extra sweets I thought I needed to get. Stoopid weather.

Keep seeing stuff about Running Man so I checked when it's coming to my local cinema. And… it's not. It looks like it's only showing in some branches of Vue. What an odd decision!

I don't want to rice shame (or do I?), but last night another Scout mum was talking about the kids cooking on next week's trip & made reference to boil-in-the-bag rice being easier to strain. If you're straining rice, you've cooked it wrong! I will be thinking about this all week.

I'd be enjoying the half term lie-in more if a random van hadn't parked in front of my house and blocked the road. 2 neighbours rang my bell before 9am to ask me to move it.

A car park was threatening to take me to court. Submitted my defence & they had 33 days to respond before the case was stayed. 40 days of feeling sick every time the postie came & I finally relaxed. 10 days later, I've logged on to see if the system has updated with the stay yet. It hasn't, but… 1/3

Needed 1 thing from an online shop& ordered 3 things I don't need but would be useful in order to meet the free delivery threshold. They've sent the 3 things in 1 package (which DHL seem to have lost). Which defies the point of free delivery on the other item as they've got 2 delivery expenses. 🤷‍♀️

This is very irritating. Even at 50% off, I hope they don't sell any. Stupid design and it must have been through a process and been approved by people. How?
