Hand up anyone who thinks Kate deserves a medal?

Could something like this be an explanation?

To be fair, the shirt was somewhat damp and clingy when he walked into Elizabeth. I'll settle for that.

@abbaetha.bsky.social - evidence of what we discussed last week.

Just sayin'.

Janey Godley, may she rest in peace, was 100% right.

Google Images censors most of the well-known photos of her, but this one snuck past.

He is spectacularly good in it, isn't he? Dennis Price was excellent at suave roles like Louis, though - in my head he will always be Jeeves to Ian Carmichael's Bertie Wooster.

The goat looks a lot like the demon D'Hoffryn. (Buffy.)

I remember visiting Westminster Abbey in around September 1974 with a close friend and Dunnett fan, both expressing our disgust at how showy Margaret's tomb is!

Proper country smocks were made of linen and stitched with linen thread. They were practical garments, but where they survive they are heirlooms.

As always, @themerl.bsky.social is a wonderful source of information and ideas.

Finally found a pic of the top I made my granddaughter earlier in the year.

Baddesley Clinton? It has three and a moat. But this bit of the Midlands is rife with such houses - everywhere south of Birmingham/Coventry was mostly recusant. I live in Kenilworth - no priest holes but a damned fine castle. (L-R, Baddesley Clinton, St Nick's, Kenilworth, Kenilworth Castle.)

I bought the wreath and never reclaimed the money, so it now goes on a pottery head she made for GCSE Art every Christmas!

Here's Katisha in the Mikado (his costume was rented) and a bunch of Junior Drama Tudor-ish costumes!

I have plenty of pics of our own personal castle, and lots of others in the UK too - my husband is a real castle enthusiast. Hit me up if you'd like anything specific. Here's one of our castle during the Bonfire Night display and three of Richmond - the original one in Yorkshire.

Yes, Kenilworth Castle is about a mile and a half from my house. Our children grew up thinking of it as a superior playground. Here are a few more pics of the place. (It's highly probable Shakespeare came here when Elizabeth I visited in 1575. His dad was mayor of the town 13 miles away.)

I'm an escaped English and drama teacher. I was fussy about costumes, so made a lot for plays I directed. (Two below - different shows.)Reading's my main thing, though. Shakespeare and Austen geek above all.

You're welcome - always happy to help.

Looks very straightforward (and pretty). I'd be inclined to use firm iron-on interfacing and line it with one of they key colours. What's the problem?

I do a lot of sewing of various sorts. Here's one I made earlier.
