Fiddling around to maintain your tentative fiscal position doesn't look strong. It looks like you've made yourself a permanent hostage to fortune. Ruling out tax rises when everyone can see they're necessary doesn't look tough. It looks mad and insincere.

We have seen a real rise in the prevalence of poor health in this country, driven by the pandemic, cost of living crisis, crumbling public services and poor quality jobs. Benefits cut won't fix these problems, they require time and investment above all.

Hear Hear - as she says "the world is a different place now" - so TAX THE SUPER-RICH PROPERLY - don't punish those with the least, and go some way to reducing the huge inequality in the country.

History will remember this day— when an American President and Vice President abandoned all we stand for.
