You never know. He's not worth losing -- especially not for a damaged-goods bust who won't even pitch next year.

Yeah, BUT, Montas's getting dropped means we can keep prospect Nick Morabito on the roster and not be exposed to the Rule V Draft. I like that management thinks it's more important to retain an impressive kid than hold a spot for a veteran who as you said, will never again throw a pitch as a Met.

My mom's a strong woman who was raised by a strong woman. My paternal grandmother was a strong woman. I married a strong woman and have a strong mother-in-law, two strong sisters-in-law, and had a grandmother-in-law who was a strong woman. Even my cat is a strong female! Real men ❤️ strong women.

Not at all. Too much toxic masculinity in human history, and just when we think we as a society -- and a species -- have strongly progressed toward a more enlightened state of gender equity and common sense, we backslide into caveman ways and elect pigs like 🤡 and his neanderthal crew.

You're right, Charley. Character counts.

I’m so conflicted. On the field, he’s my all-time favorite #Mets position player and arguably our most exciting. He should’ve been a forever Met and Hall of Famer. It pains me that brass let him walk. But off the field? The domestic violence incident? The double life with the mistress and child?😬😳🤯

Nope. Hurt too much.

Gee whiz, I have very little on him except that he was Tylor Megill before Tylor Megill — a guy who really was better as a long reliever than a starter, but the Mets kept stubbornly and foolishly insisting as they’ve done with Megill, that one day Gee would flourish as a starter. Still waiting.

Kazuma Okamoto. He has a Gold Glove at 1B and has Alonso's RH power, but doesn't strike out much. At the very least, if we re-sign Alonso and he's not the full-time DH, we need a late-inning defensive replacement at 1B for him.

Me too!
November 17, 2025 at 1:44 AM
Maybe, but as I've mentioned before, I'd want him to be the full-time DH.

Maybe so. I saw Naylor as being a very good 1B candidate if Pete were to leave.

Here's what I filled myself with: A delicious Hawaiian breakfast at a restaurant called Aloha Stacks, in Whittier -- ube pancakes with coconut cream, kalua pig, and scrambled eggs.😋

The forever prospect who didn’t live up to the hype. “Big Pelf” started Citi Field’s first-ever game and served its first HR — to obscure Padres utility, Jody Gerut. Pelf never developed an “out” pitch, which condemned him to being a career-long, coin flip, middle-of-the road, middle rotation guy.
