Good thing that I’m not a retiree. I retain the ability to remind Hegseth that EVERY MEMBER OF THE MILITARY HAS THE DUTY TO DISOBEY AN UNLAWFUL ORDER. We learn this in basic training.

But the answer is the same reason why Putin invaded Ukraine.
