Tray Federici will be Gig Harbor's new permanent police chief, the city announced this morning. Federici has been the interim chief since Kelly Busey retired in June. Look for a story later today.

Not even 1 p.m. yet, and already at least 300 people at the Hands Off demonstration at the corner of Point Fosdick and Olympic. Protesters are lined up a half block in any direction from the intersection. The protest was scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
