Blues Travelers (and Spin Doctors) were NYC bands so I used to see them play the same dives my friend’s band played at. All 3 went on to get record deals.

But during college, I did see RHCP open up for Fishbone. I also used to see Masters of Reality before Rick Rubin produced them

Most Americans also don’t know that Spinal Tap is based in part on Slade. At least in the 80s. MTV used to play Slade’s comeback song “Run Runaway” a lot. Slade def deserves better.

It’s funny how many members of the Dolls, KISS and The Ramones came out of East Queens. Twisted Sister started as a David Bowie-inspired band in 1973. Slade was also a huge influence on a lot of glam metal bands.
