While looking for some seals today I came across this beautiful signet ring of John, an imperial spatharios.
The ring is dated to the 10th century, it is made of gold and niello and today it is housed at The MET Museum.
Accession Number: 1992.239

A couple of years ago I was working on a new catalogue of the Greek manuscripts of the Cadbury Research Library with some good colleagues and I had the opportunity to work on the beautiful MS Peckover Gr. 7, a 12th century Manuscript.
