This is what the FBI's fingerprint files looked like in 1942:

FBI was adding 400,000 file cards a month to its archives, and was receiving 110,000 requests for “name checks” per month. By 1944 the agency contained some 23 million card records, as well as 10 million fingerprint records.

A 5-month-old tortoiseshell kitten sits upright on a salad-sized plate that is resting on a white-tiled floor. The kitten is looking slightly off to the side and has her tongue out, licking her top lip. The plate is very attractive with a rim depicting a variety of flora and fauna. So. Truthfully… I can’t remember if Mustang sitting on the plate is actually food related or not. I think she just knew how adorable she looked and was showing up the other cats.
