Morning tea by the beach was a little bit windy this morning.

Can't remember where this was, somewhere South of Sarina, QLD. Was tempted to get closer to the building and maybe have a look inside but I cannot stand spiders and hooooly shit were the spiders around here massive

Tried my hand at blackout poetry. Started as a rumination on the hopeful optimism for the future from the 1950s, ended with pegging.

Was fortunate to see this beautiful sunset over Mackay, QLD when I was last there. Easily in the top 5 best sunsets I've ever witnessed.

Life update: I got married today to the love of my life.

The don't make vehicles as beautiful as they did in the past. This 50 year old broken down wreck is still more aesthetically pleasing than 90% of the vehicles on the road today.

One of these things is not like the other

Day two, making our way into inland North Queensland. Beautiful scenery but a hard fucking drive. Seemed to alternate between hot and sunny and torrential flash-flood inducing rain every 40 minutes or so for the entire day.

Had a couple of Bluefaced Honeyeaters join me for lunch at a nice little truckstop somewhere on the long road north

Heading north, racing thunderstorms. We couldn't beat mother nature to our hotel and got absolutely pounded, heaviest rain I've driven through in a long while. More expected tomorrow so here's hoping the roads hold up once we get off the highway and head into the outback.

Watched Lisa Frankenstein last night, and what a great movie! Funny, charming, beautifully shot. Destined to become a beloved cult film in certain circles.

Wanderings after dark. The wind was blowing a gale, freezing rain mixed with the ocean spray and whipped against you. I love nights like this. Cold enough and miserable enough that nobody else was around and the whole night belonged to me.

Good way to spend a lazy afternoon. Going to be run off my feet for the next month, gotta enjoy this while I can
