Posting a cute Carolina Wren in lieu of the Winter Wren I couldn’t catch with my iPhone. Second year in a row I’ve seen a solitary Winter, weirdly in the same spot.

White crowned sparrows have kind of taken over SF. I’ve never seen so many.

Back in Louisiana for a bit. Nice greeting from turtle frens. But also having Boxes out during mid-November is a little concerning.

I love tree frogs. Hopefully this one is avoiding the ribbon snakes that are still out!

It’s not her fault it’s hotter than the surface of the sun outside right now. I think baby box deserves a blueberry or two today.

My cosmos are starting to bloom. So far most are gold and yellow. A lot of plants that I could grow back in CA don’t do so well here so this is a nice surprise.

Great blue herons do NOT like having their pictures take. Great egrets usually like to pose.

Ok… I’m kind of freaking out. I drove mom through the park and there… was a Tricolored Heron (!!!) hanging with a Little Blue, Great and Snowy Egret. I have never seen one and was just posting about them. Just an unbelievably gorgeous bird. They are really tiny!
