Finally finished! This capelet took a lot longer than I wanted it too. But it turned out great I think.

this is how I spent my weekend...cold and without power thanks to an winter wind storm of 75-90+ mph winds knocking out the power-grid to my entire small town. We only just got our power back two hours ago but still no heat...that gets fixed tomorrow *hopefully*

so Youtube has a rewind the year thing now...this is very accurate since the top three are channels I'll put on when I'm sewing for background noise if I'm not in the mood for podcasts, but I'm surprised GMMTV is #5 I kind of though one of my fav history doc channels would have been in that slot.

Every once in a while I'll look outside my window and remember why I still like in Alaska. Besides the glare ice in our parking lot, the scenery is A+

so far in my research I've discovered this fabric was a nice flowy rayon (of course it was,this stuff is from the late 40's) came in black & navy, but was I think only sold in a variety of dress styles & not just the fabric itself was for sale. If so, I am very sad. examples I've found below 👇👇

Oh gosh what I could make out of a couple yards of this fabric... I don't even care it it only came in navy. I'd make it work with my wardrobe somehow. See this is why looking at old magazines and vintage fabric is dangerous for my already empty wallet 😞

I've decided I'm going to try and recreate this Meta skirt I sold back in 2019. I've regretted selling it, so I think I'm going to try and recreate it. I don't have the exact fabric obviously, but with all of the fabric I've been hoarding I must HAVE something that can fit the bill 🤔

A meager but very thankful gift haul this year. Not pictured is a mug and some fancy hot cocoa a neighbor got me as a thank you for helping her haul in her groceries every week. Also I got myself a few patches last week that I've already put onto my jacket.

These are the 2 emotions I've been feeling since last night if anyone wants to know how I'm doing. I live in a ultra conservative area in a red state & life is about to get real hard for the foreseeable future. I guess we hope for the best & prepare for the worst. Not much else we can do...
