2024 was a wild time for music, so I'm going to be throwing my favourites of the year here now.

Cindy Lee's surprise release is an insane lo-fi train around so many beautiful feelings and sounds. All killer, no filler, for over two hours

Instagram AI slop is truly my guilty pleasure, it feels like the wild west of social media but it's all misses no hits

Jazzy art-pop filled with double vocals, all softly delivered giving vibes from high-energy Men I Trust to Belle and Sebastian and even ending off with some Ween. Very fun listen

Are bells and chimes fall music? They always feel cold to me. In My Arms, Many Flowers by Daniel Schmidt has four soft, sometimes eerie, bell tracks which (personally) peaks at the dreaminess and openness of Ghosts

Thanks to everyone doing promoskys so I don't have to, I don't know my interests unless they're right in front of me

It's rained the last three days but I now have therapy and optimism. Soft Landing by Art School Girlfriend is atmospheric and moody art pop, with soft vocals, ethereal synths, and tight drum loops to keep you jamming while still enjoying the rain outside

I think social media bots would be a lot more interesting if they developed love triangles so we could witness an unfolding love story between their politically charged rants

Surf rock in fact did not fix me, I have lost the last day to a depressive spiral. In that spirit, have an album I can never listen to again because it makes me too sad, Mount Eerie's A Crow Looked At Me

Bandcamp has gifted me Spring at Home by Saapato, a 47-minute field recording meshed with cozy and sparkly synths. I have already listened to it 5 times and have never felt more with nature while high at my desk

I got sidetracked by baking, here's an album I got from a reddit thread when I was in highschool and haven't let go of since. Soft, tape recorded, and very moody with some solid hooks

I think this is the last mainstay of my first HoL reading, but this one comes back on a monthly basis. It's like a maximal electronic soundscape that manages to hug and hold you through all its jagged noise, definitely something to melt to

I hate the implications of the checkmark on p97 what do you mean Johnny is referencing letters to his mother from 1985 why does the 8th chapter line up with his 8th letter.

I refuse to believe the echo chapter in HoL is bad. Semi-related tangents is what glues the book together. Here's some ambient that constantly toes the line between comforting and unsettling, full of synth and piano
