Just that the posted clip wasn't the whole answer

The clip that was posted was clearly edited, I wanted to see the full answer he gave

Watch the full clip on YT

Not sure I'm defending him, just struck me that it's easy to go "ha, what a dick he chose a TV show when asked what his favourite film is" but the full answer he gave, to me, means that easy reaction isn't warranted
November 22, 2025 at 10:53 PM
Because I was curious as to why he gave that answer
November 22, 2025 at 10:48 PM
"now we can never get them on the sofa to watch the same thing with us at the same time" - I can totally relate to this sentiment that triggered his choice
November 22, 2025 at 10:47 PM
Ok,I watched the YT interview
November 22, 2025 at 10:44 PM
That's made my night, nice one

(also enjoyed Ian Dunt's and Duncan Weldon's)

He provides some qualifying context before giving his answer that the edit on the original post omits, that's all - we might not agree with his politics but his full answer isn't "weird"

?
November 22, 2025 at 10:39 PM
He provides some context as to the answer he gives
November 22, 2025 at 10:31 PM
In what way?
November 22, 2025 at 10:29 PM
C'mon, he explains the context of him choosing The Traitors as being it was a rare thing his kids watched with him - as a parent I can relate & don't think that's a weird answer at all
November 22, 2025 at 10:29 PM
Watch the whole clip, it's slightly more nuanced that this edit
November 22, 2025 at 10:04 PM

Probably puts you in that bracket that can acknowledge both the sheer size of a subject and the fraction of it you have any mastery of

D) look tough

That YT clip generated some great insight in the comments from folk who've worked in a coffee shop about the various motivations at play in the behaviour he describes!

(+ the belief that demand for coffee *does* dip as the day goes on)

There's only so many times "at breaking point" can be used without it kinda losing its meaning
November 17, 2025 at 5:02 PM
Found it!

Thanks for this, spotted a print referencing Gene Clark's No Other *as I was listening to it* that's totally a signal from somewhere, will purchase

- you also re-posted another artist a couple of weeks ago

- thought I'd saved it but haven't :(

- to hand?

We got any view on the kind of replies posts like that generate?

And create said system whilst one of the combatants can simply say things like "if you're thinking of building a windfarm, heads up we'll stop you" & spook away the investment the country desperately needs

World certainly benefit from the input of that unwavering translator
