basically, section 230 says that users, not platforms, are liable for what they post. opponents say it helps big tech skirt responsibility. in reality, section 230 is GOOD. if platforms were liable for every single post, and every single hot take, and every DM!!! they would literally NOT EXIST

realistically they would exist, but it would be really bad. they would need to use ai to scan and censor any content that offends the govt bc they would then be liable for it. our govt literally hates gays and puerto ricans btw. also they would hand over that crazy amount of user data to ice
