Ausstellung "Michaelina Wautier, Malerin" im KhM in Wien. Eine spannende Barock-Malerin deren Werke lange vom patrachalen Kunstbetrieb diversen männlichen Malern zugeschrieben wurden. Leider wie immer im KhM mit durchgehend schlechter Luftqualität.

Ein Aranet CO2 Messgerät vor einem großen Saal im KhM. Die mangelnde Belüftung sieht man an den CO2 Wert von 1400ppm trotz großem Luftvolumen im Raum. Ein Gemälde von Michaelina Wautier: zwei Kinder spielen mit Seifenblasen. Eine ausgegangene Kerze und ein Totenschädel deuten zusätzlich auf die Vergänglichkeit hin.

Also one more article praising Sweden, which killed an unnecessarily big share of its population at the start of the pandemic by not taking the same common-sense measures other countries took.
Excess mortality of Sweden and Germany from Our World in Data. Sweden had up to 50% more mortality than expected in the first half of 2020 while Germany had only up to about 12% more mortality until mid-2020 when measures were reduced and mortality rose, similar to Sweden at the same time.

Indoor-CO2-Messung im Kindermuseum Zoom in Wien am heutigen weltweiten Tag der Innenraumbelüftung #worldventil8day.
Der Luftaustausch in den Räumen mit Türen zum Innenhof passt super mit Lüften auch jetzt im Winter. Im WC gibt es hingehen tolle Zerrspiegel aber keine brauchbare Lüftung.
Eine schwarz gekleidete Person vor einem Zerrspiegel, die Beine wirken sehr kurz, der Torso ist in die Länge gezogen. Das vor dem Spiegel hochgehaltene Aranet CO2 Messgerät Zeit 1422ppm an, ein schlechter Wert Das gleiche Aranet in einem Gang Bereich vor Plakaten des Zoom Museums mit 778ppm, ein guter Wert.

Große Geschäftshallen sind eindeutig einfacher gut belüftet zu halten als kleine Lokale oder Klassen- und Meetingräume. Mit CO2 gesteuerten Lüftungsanlagen könnten wir aber auch dort gute Luftwerte haben!
Ein Aranet vor einer Schiebetüre im Obi mit dem ausgezeichneten CO2 Wert von 492ppm Im IKEA Restaurant einmal Fisch und Chips, einmal vegane Köttbullar und ein Aranet mit dem sehr guten Luftwert von 583ppm CO2 Aranet vor der Weihnachtsdeko im IKEA 1220 Wien: 555ppm CO2

My latest dead stock fabric purchase of mostly chequered fabrics just arrived and every single one feels great and looks even better than I expected, yay! ✨ If you see me at a conference next year I might be wearing one of these fabrics as I'm planning to sew some more formal pieces.

Spannender dritter Film im ersten Viennale-Wochenende 2025. "The Arch" von 1968 mit anschließendem Publikumsgespräch mit der Regisseurin: zu Filmproduktion in Hongkong als junge Frau in den 60ern und Flower-Power Editing.
Das Metro Kino überzeugt u.a. durch super Luftqualität in den Sälen!

Bissi Werbung für die neuen Mini Cabins in den Nightjets 🥰
Zug-Gang mit rechts zwei offenen Mini-Cabin Zugabteilen. Zwei Abteile sind übereinander angeordnet. In den offenen Abteilen liegt eine rote Decke, ein Polster und ein Müllsackerl. Die Bilder sind alle etwas verschwommen weil sie während der Fahrt aufgenommen wurden. ;) Zwei offene obere Abteile und zwei geschlossene untere, die mit einem Metallrollladen verschlossen sind. Dazwischen Fächer für kleines Gepäck und Schuhe für jedes Abteil. Das Innere eines Anteils mit grauer Sofa-artiger Unterlage, einem kleinen Fenster, einer Zeitungstaache und Haken an der Wand und Lüftungsschlitzen an der Decke. Nach rechts wird die Kabine am Kopfende etwas breiter.

Zweiter Aufenthalt in Hamburg und mein Fazit ist zunehmend: Eine spannende Stadt! Und St. Pauli eine sehr sympathische Gegend ☺️
Eine Wand mit Stickern. In der Mitte: "No haircuts for fascists" und rot-schwarze Scheren Eine Toilettenwand mit rosa Tag und einem Sicker mit Text "Transrechte sind Menschenrechte meine Kerle!" Und einer sympathischen dicken Kröte. Auf einer Wiese sitzen Leute auf Liegestühlen und fritz-kola Kisten im Sonnenschein. Im Hintergrund eine Bühne auf einer Bar. Es spielt "Bed" auf dem Reeperbahn Festival Ein Straßeneck mit Lokal am Eck, Graffitis, Astra und Budvar Bier Schildern. Im Fenster hängt eine Regenbogen-St Pauli Fahne. Über dem Lokal kleine Balkone mit Tomaten Pflanzen und Blumen.

If you are interested in public infrastructure, you might have heard of the new waste management facility Amager Bakke or "CopenHill" that doubles as a year round ski hill. I'm here to tell you to take the free elevator up and enjoy the view if you are in Copenhagen in the future.

Splurging on an expensive hotel for a night and the only thing that excited me compared to other hotels was the waste bin in the room. Separate food waste!? I hope they really recycle the stuff I meticulously put into the separate compartments.
On carpeted floor: a square waste bin divided by diagonal inserts into four compartments. Three have plastic bag inserts (black, white and green), one is empty (probably for paper). Some more info on the bin would have been nice for international guests (such as me).

My phone during a holiday trip by train abroad, filled with (new) public transport apps. 🚉 These are all very useful once you figure out which app you need where.

Ausflug ans dänische Wattenmeer und am Weg diese spannenden Straßenverengungen zur Verkehrsberuhigung entdeckt. 🤩 Dazu entweder eigenständige Radwege oder, in schmaleren Straßen, eine Spur für Autos insgesamt für beide Richtungen und zwei Fahrradspuren links und rechts. Kenne ich sonst nur aus NL!

Olafur Eliasson's "your rainbow panorama" on top of Aros art museum in Aarhus is one of the best museum experiences I've had so far. No idea if there is a deeper meaning behind it but it is definitely fun to be in. ;)

First time in Hamburg and it is so much more multifaceted than I expected: between luxury shopping malls from around 1900 between Venice-like channels, a visible homeless population, the active harbor, alternative youth culture and high culture (yes that's a pun) in the Elbphilharmonie.

A shopping centre seemingly from the 1920s with multi-story high facetted windows. The building stands right by a broad channel and is reflected in the water. A raised pathway on stilts runs above the water along the building and people sit in a café on the pathway. The 'green bunker' - a huge bunker building with many small windows and several floors built on top with lush greenery. It stands next to Ubahn Station Feldstraße. View from inside the Elbphilharmonie building through curved glass panes towards the viewing platform and beyond it the view of the harbor.

Die Covid Zahlen gehen grad wieder sehr steil nach oben. Tragt Maske, lüftet bzw. nutzt Luftfilter wenn ihr das nicht abbekommen wollt. Symptome scheinbar weniger Husten, mehr Halsweh und Durchfall (?).

I'm fully immersed in my life as the bookseller in the game Tiny Bookshop. Took me a bit to get into the unhurried pace of the game but watching people choose books, decorating for aesthetics and profits and best of all recommending *real* books is so satisfying.
A snowy morning at the fish market at the harbor in the game. My mobile bookshop is a trailer with fairy lights. A fisherman is selling his fish in a stall. The bookshop is parked in front of a cafe, the street has lit pumpkin decorations. A dozen speech bubbles signal what people are doing in the bookshop - browsing, having a coffee, selecting and buying books. A book recommendation - a person wants a non-fiction book in a historical setting, similar to Mesopotamian Buildings. There are options to recommend a book from the shelf or say "sorry, I got nothing". Each book in the bookshelf has a description, author and publishing date. Books are colour coded for genres. The book currently selected is "What we don't talk about when we talk about fat" by Aubrey Gordon from 2020 - a great real-life fat liberation book!

Leider nichts Neues aber dennoch immer wieder enttäuschend finde ich: Nur die Hälfte der Befragten in Österreich sieht gleichgeschlechtliche Eltern als gleich gut geeignet an wie verschiedengeschlechtliche (hetero) Eltern.
Grafik zu Regionen und Ländern in Europa und den Einstellungen zu gleichgeschlechtlicher Elternschaft nach Alter. In Kaukasus bis Südosteuropa lehnen der Großteil der Befragten queere Elternschaft ab, fast unabhängig vom Alter. Werte über 50% Zustimmung zu queerer Elternschaft erreichen nur Personen unter 60 in deutschprachigen Ländern, West- und Nordeuropa. Ausschließich in Nordeuropa sind auch ältere Personen positiv gegenüber gleichgeschlechtlichen Eltern eingestellt. Europakarte, die Länder sind nach dem Anteil der Personen die gleichgeschlechtliche ELternschaft als gleichberechtigt gut sehen eingefärbt. Ganz klar sichtbar ist ein Bruch zwischen West-Nord Europa mit hoher Zustimmung und Süd-Ost Europa mit geringer Zustimmung. Österreich liegt in der Bruchlinie mit 54% Zustimmung.
