He doesn’t believe in scientific evidence. Peter Hotez’s book about his daughter w autism (and how it was not the fault of vaccines) came from conversations w rfk jr., who was not moved. Who knows if he is insane, but he is very effective at destroying public science and vaccine access.

Cuts like these reinforce my belief that trying to appeal to security arguments — bio research is important because of national security, we need to be very concerned about misuse etc — aren’t going to work.

I know this is obvious, but if one does not believe in germ theory, as the secretary has stated, one does not need to worry about germs. The biological threats he is worried about come from medical interventions. If you’re healthy, in his mind, you don’t need those. (Soft eugenics)

I was horrified to realize that the argument that death was expected because of “underlying conditions” (used w COViD and measles) was being used to justify starving children. Every child has the right to food and to not die of a vaccine preventable illness— why be against protecting the innocent.

I think discrimination based on “karyotype” is just baseline for them. And prob extends to all other karyotype variations.

Considering the decimation of cdc, nih grants halted, embrace of pseudoscience, and antivax actions that will leave the US unprepared for an H5N1 pandemic and may lead to the robust return of preventable childhood diseases, have you considered that grade inflation is a problem here?
