I was HoD on that night, so stood with our excellent Chief Executive, in the main corridor at Frenchay Hospital. ED to one side, emergency operating theatres and ICU to the other side. In the days when the Chief Executive knew the layout of the hospital like the back of their hand.

I was at a meeting about the assisted dying bill last night with my MP. The bill says each case is to be authorised by the High Court. We came to the view that death by natural causes would occur before any cases were authorised!
