We got seecreeet books from the #LockedLibrary. This year they had an option for fantasy or romantasy and tho the teal on the romantasy was prettier I’m a fantasy girl @ heart. I wound up with a very pretty copy of #MoonStone by #LauraPurcell which we’ll be adding to the reading list. #BookHaul

So happy to see Frances White getting the recognition she deserves for an incredible book (and not just cause of the similar surnames 😅) Voyage of the Damned is such an incredible book - who doesn’t want a locked room mystery in a fantasy setting.

Sooo this happened! Yesterday I was awarded the British Fantasy Award for Best Newcomer for Voyage of the Damned.
I know everyone says this but I really didn’t expect to win! I’ve always maintained I don’t write the type of books that win awards but apparently I do?

Australia's humpback whales are doing so well that their population is expected to reach carrying capacity and plateau in the near future--they have not just reached but exceeded pre-whaling numbers. For this to happen with such a long-lived, slow-reproducing species is near miraculous. #goodnews
These whales were hunted to 150 individuals. Now there are 50,000 of them
Once hunted almost to extinction, the population of humpback whales currently migrating down Australia's east coast has bounced back and is now greater than before whaling.
