Not voting for the lesser of two evils is actually voting for the greater one.

They promised "shock and awe" on day 1 of the new administration, but I think it is looking more like "shart and gnaw".

It seems likely to me that Johnson will be named speaker on Friday 1/3, as the GOP needs to be able to certify the election on Monday, 1/6.

After that, I wonder if he will make it to inauguration day...

MSNBC is airing segments about the various legal cases against Trump.

If you go after the big dog, you better have a big enough gun, and you better not miss.

IMO the only cases big enough were the 1/6 impeachment, 1/6 DOJ, and classified docs.

All missed.

We cannot win if voters get their news about Democrats from Republicans.

Our party needs to show up everywhere if we want to beat the GOP’s edge and reshape the information environment.

That means deploying great communicators to deliver effective messages – everywhere.

November brought a 6% shift nationally towards Trump. But in Wisconsin, it was only 1.5%.

At the same time, we reelected Tammy Baldwin to the Senate and flipped 14 state legislative seats.

Organizing and communicating year-round matters. We can do this in every state and territory.

The US Senate. A once proud institution.

Now relegated to the task of deciding how many unqualified, unsuitable, and incompetent nominees they will allow through, compromising the individual dignity of members, but, more importantly, the dignity of the upper chamber of our great nation.

Sad.

The Harris campaign should have made it a priority to do much more education on who the people were that Trump was going to install into his cabinet.

Gaetz, Patel, Gabbard, etc. It's not like these people came out of thin air.

People tend to focus on a few pet factors in explaining election results. IMO it's better to make a list, then assign weights to each factor that add up to 100.

Forces you to think critically and make trade-offs in your mind. Shows there are lots of things to be done, not one magic bullet.

@gtconway.bsky.social should have been AG instead of Garland.

Wrt to prosecutions of Trump.

Neither Biden nor Garland understood the information war they were in. Adhering to the old ways was a Maginot Line level mistake.

I remember being uncomfortable when Twitter kicked Trump off after 1/6. He was the sitting president, after all.

Would Musk still buy the company if they hadn't done that?

I just completed state and city mandated anti-harassment training. It's a yearly requirement.

Whenever I do the training, I am reminded of the idea that there should be mandatory training required before participating on social media. With yearly refreshers.

Tariffs and deportations will be fuel for corruption. Trumpkins is above all that, no?
Good to see the Times picking up on a theme some of us have been hammering for a while: Trump's tariffs, and especially an opaque exemption process, will be an engine of massive crony capitalism 1/ www.nytimes.com/2024/11/23/u...
