👿 #DonaldTrumpsShutdown isn’t about budgets. It’s about cruelty. He shut the government down rather than extend ACA subsidies that keep millions insured. They keep platinum coverage on the taxpayer dime while the poor pay the price. This isn’t governance. It’s punishment.

Donald Trump's Shutdown — Punishing America to Kill Our Healthcare
The government is shut down because Trump and his GOP enablers refused to extend healthcare subsidies millions rely on. They get platinum-level coverage for free — we get pink slips, higher premiums,

Why would the DOJ scrub the fact that right-wing extremism is the #1 domestic terror threat in America?

Why not acknowledge and confront it?

Also why haven't they released the Epstein Files?

Also why did Ghislaine Maxwell get a sweetheart deal transfer?

These problems won't go away.

It truly cannot be restated enough that earlier this year Trump pardoned everyone involved with J6, the largest event of political violence in the US in my lifetime. They have absolutely no credibility here and deserve to be confronted with this fact whenever they're in public.
Political violence is evil, killing people is evil, a country with more guns in it than people is broken, and what the government is saying about political violence right now being a primarily leftwing phenomenon is factually, statistically untrue. They are using this moment to rewrite history.

A reminder to "X" to introduce the laugh in addition to the like response. There are a lot of comedians here!
I beg to differ. Quite a number of units seem to be near the White House.
The @washingtonpost tracked where Trump's forces are patrolling in Washington. Spoiler alert: They're not where the crime is.

In the Philippines soon afterward, the U.S. set up its first overseas concentration camps. Mosquito-borne malaria surged among detainees. As one soldier wrote: "Now this little spot of black sogginess is a reconcentrado pen, with a dead-line outside, beyond which everything living is shot..." [6/17]

As promised, in light of the WaPo report of Everglades camp detainees being swarmed by mosquitoes in the shower and unable to sleep at night due to being bitten, I want to briefly address concentration camp history and mosquitoes. I won't be comprehensive but will give a few examples. [1/17]

SIXTY federal agents kitted out like they were taking on Osama Bin Laden to raid a swap meet.

The ONLY people they ended up arresting were to people already going through immigration court proceedings, seemingly rearrested because ICE agents didn’t want to go home empty-handed.

Deploying Marines to LA isn’t normal. It’s a gross abuse of power similar to what we see from dictators around the world, setting the stage for martial law or full-on authoritarianism.

My take, essentially, is that we could be weeks or maybe even days away from the disintegration of the rule of federal law in this country. At some point this administration is going to stop obeying court orders. What then? Nothing good.
If I were the one who had made up the title of this episode, I would have added “—Or Not” to it. And with some emphasis on the “not.”
