Anyway, if MailOnline are going to stick their story behind a paywall then I'm going to make mine available for free for 24 hours. So have a read, stick this in your WhatsApp group, and just help me spread the word about where to get the real thing.

To me, this is the best argument for publicly-funded telly

The only way anyone in the UK will be making shows about British life in ten years time will be via public subsidy

'Complaints about bias have peaked during the war in Gaza, with critics arguing that BBC News coverage has been anti-Israel'

That'll be news to users of social media, where everyone seems convinced the 6 o'clock news is IDF propaganda

Maybe a better example of the Times' bias, there

The world was 100% better when the US spent all its money on mobile iron weapons platforms and Europeans spent all their money on social welfare and Audis

Bad news for Bond fans

But Amazon will probably keep the UK as the production base for all the terrible spin-off shows they're about to green-light

Bezos loves tax breaks

Yeah, the licence fee was a tax they could choose to opt out of (and still use the service anyway)

I can understand why the Mail and Murdoch used the licence fee as a way of fostering hostility to the BBC, their biggest commercial competitor

But not why their readers went along with that line

Makes sense - that's where all the ad money (and the kids) have gone

ITV/C4 and the BBC could save a fortune by scrapping bespoke platforms nobody under 40 watches and using Youtube as free hosting for their immense archives

'Keelan, who worked with Moore for years at the BBC, will exit next year'

Even high-level US execs are suckers for an English accent

No idea whether she's in line for DG, but avoiding post-Iger Disney seems like a smart move

That place is going the same way it did last time Iger retired

That was a difficult listen but a great show

Thank you
