As someone who rode to work every day in Christchurch, I haven't been "allowed" to ride to work in Auckland since I've been here (by the home boss). CHC is way ahead of Auckland in terms of a function cycle commuting network.

It would honestly be cheaper just to fly over and buy paddock access.
