I moved from CHC to Auckland 9 months ago & honestly, I just love it. How much? We just called in to pick up from the neighbours & ended up staying, having a gin & chatting. We NEVER did that in CHC over all the years we lived there. Auckland, you're bloody good.

When you buy a new fast charger & USB-C charge cable for your wife's iPhone 13 (costing $70) ... then you get home & find that you already had one that she could have used.

The sooner we ban sales of fireworks, the better: Tonight is the third night in a row my dog is unsettled & trying to find a place to hide in the house.

I don't get to do many game dev interviews these days (well, none, really) so when I do I want to share it! I spoke with Ghost of Yotei campaign director Rob Davis (an Aussie no less) for @KoruCottage koru-cottage.com/interview-ro...

Rob Davis sat down with KC's Gerard Campbell in Auckland, New Zealand, for an interview about building Ghost of Yotei's world and the pressure of the dreaded "second album".

Have spent much of the afternoon looking for accommodation in Rome for when we travel Europe next year. There is a bamboozling array of options. My head hurts.

A bit late posting, but awesome Father's Day gifts from my two adult children. They know me well.

Just finished The Drifter from @barney.powerhoof.com on my Steam Deck. Best game I've played in a long time. Story was engaging, art style is on point & so great hearing Kiwi & Au accents in a game. Highly recommended.

I've been in Auckland for five months & am heading back to CHC this weekend to see friends & today is the first time that I'm actually questioning our move north & wondering if we should have stayed in CHC. Miss my friends, I think.

Tonight was probably the first time in five months living in Auckland that I wanted to say "Your traffic can just go fark itself." Diabolical.

An observation as NZ gets battered again by terrible weather & Nelson is in a state of emergency with towns cut off due to flooding and slips: Where is our PM while all this is happening? Not a peep from him.

Saw the F1 movie. It was ... OK. I guess being a longtime F1 fan I went in critical & cringing at times. So yeah, it was OK.

Flying to soggy Nelson shortly. So far our flight hasn't been canceled.

Lego Nigel Mansell Williams FW14B completed. A worrying number of pieces left over, mind you.

Pretty average winter day in Auckland so while my wife went for a massage, I started a new Lego project: Nigel Mansell's Williams FW14B.

Win an SSD drive so open PC to install it. Realise I don't have any suitable SSD screws because for some reason I threw bag of screws out, so take GPU out to clean it, reinstall ... now PC refuses to boot as BIOS can't find any bootable devices. Maybe I should stick to consoles.

Stopped off at a vinyl record sale while heading to Mangawhai for the weekend yesterday and I may have bought a new vinyl. OK, I did buy a new vinyl.

Bought two albums at the Mt Albert Record Fair today. Am I doing NZ Music Month right?

Son and his partner are touring Europe for four weeks before they start their life in London ... and based on the images he's sending us from places like Prague, Budapest & Vienna, I wish I was there right now. Time to start saving for our 2026 European trip.

Just renewed my car insurance. No-one told me that insurance premiums were going to be dearer in Auckland than in Christchurch. Yikes!

When are the NZ media going to start putting the hard questions to Luxon as to why he is never in the house when the controversial bills are being debated? Instead, we get stories about NZ reality TV stars selling their Auckland home.

Stunning sunset from the deck in Auckland tonight.

Between a story about about an NZ actress announcing her pregnancy & this drivel, I think I'm finally ready to give up opn Stuff.
