5 chances created from Florian Wirtz tonight - more than any player in the match.

16 chances created in his first 4 Champions League games for Liverpool - the most any #LFC player has created over a run of 4 Champions League apps on Opta's records.

Yesterday, the largest far-right protest in UK history marched through London, led by racist Tommy Robinson.

Today, we say: They don’t speak for us — and they won’t have the last word.

This Wednesday we come together against Trump and for a better future. Do everything to be there.

Burnley showed a lot of spirit and defensive discipline but the idea that they deserved a draw is a bit mad. Liverpool weren’t great but, as the stats show, they totally and utterly dominated. And they did what all great teams do - they kept going and ultimately found a way.

Today people went around my neighborhood in north east London spray painting St George’s crosses onto people’s homes. Many of these houses have non British people living in them.

This is getting very dark, very quick.

I’m not surprised at the large turn out yesterday. Our media ecosystem - as @carolecadwalla.bsky.social has often pointed — has completely collapsed, and people are motivated by outright inflammatory lies on social media. It’s a crisis of information and the dark side of the digital revolution

Free speech is not hate speech.

We cannot allow hate-mongers to define who we are as a nation.

Now more than ever, we must stand united against intimidation, violence, division, and fear.

I have written and deleted a lot of posts but I keep thinking about how the brutal assassination of Minnesota State senator Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and their beloved dog Gilbert in June did not prompt this same level of calls for empathy, sympathy, and flags at half-mast.

When the Tommeh mob kick off, could someone tell McSweeney and Starmer that most British people intensely dislike drunk, coked up football hooligans acting the twat and it is high time they stood up to them, and for British values, which do not include yobbery, vandalism or white nationalism.

As experts in conspiracy suggest, those believing in conspiracies are often looking for a simple explanation as to why their lives are shit. Sometimes it might be their fault other times it might be complex structural issues but it’s simpler to just blame a conspiracy.

This is a good insight into the right-radicalisation of over-50s.
It’s the politicisation of the midlife crisis and I’m only half joking. Loneliness, divorce, redundancy/not getting the deference they feel is due at work, loss of power + seeing that decline reflected in your town. What’s more startling in a way is the over-50 female reform shift

The actual group moving most strongly to Reform are male Gen X-ers. We need more articles on how to deal with them.
Shot, chaser

Young men more likely to vote Green than Reform. Young men second most progressive group of any demographic. Combined right-wing vote barely bigger than Green vote alone for young men

Rant incoming....

So was listening to Football Weekly today and one of the guests said "Liverpool #LFC were the one team competing for the title that had not had to deal with serious injuries to key players" and it made me think this guy is talking bollocks. But then I thought, maybe he is right..
