It’s really not the same thing though. Keeping & preserving items/decor of historical value is a widely done practice. A former colonised & oppressed country continuing to use a throne with all the explicit & implicit meaning/history attached is absolutely different.

I’d prob scribble on the back of the bowel screening one that the sample got lost, so if it’s a time sensitive thing for the test then they know they need to request a repeat sample.
