I worked at a company once that avoided this by throwing out the resume of every single person who didn't show up in person to their office in Louisiana to follow up on it in about a week. Unwritten policy too lol!

I fail to believe that there's one perfect individual hire for every single indoor job no matter how basic that needs to be found by filtering 50,000 resumes and then doing 10 rounds of interviews.

The Empire could be pretty shoddy considering the whole sorry edifice really did just exist as a support structure around Palpatine's esoteric endeavors. Like it was barely even personalist per se bc it was barely even real in a certain sense.

White collar jobs are so bizarrely picky the union just sends us guys up to a fairly high level of seniority/specialization and it works fine.

People were abusing preboarding at Southwest in certain airports because that airline formerly did not have assigned seats. To the point where big spenders/frequent flyers were getting middle seats.
