Footage of frog-pawn filmed up close and personal in the pond today. Winking, blinking and croaking in the early afternoon sunlight. Spring has sprung 😍

And then I wrote a blog about mindful moments in which sitting in nature has enabled me to detach from the shenanigans going on in the world. open.substack.com/pub/georgina...
Mindful Moments
Two frogs are wrestling at the bottom of the water. Their fat limbs perform slow motion knockouts. They tumble and turn with plump legs flailing and grappling with an instinct to thrive. Two amphibiou...

Yesterday and today was not only about spotting frogs as but newts too. Water quality must be good as they seem to be thriving happily in our pond.

Enjoyed playing spot-the-frog this morning as they sat on the bottom of the pond. This is probably about 3 feet deep. I counted 8 frogs just sitting in the sunshine. Whether they were actually sunbathing or not I wouldn’t be able to tell. Such a a joy seeing them though.

I’m writing about how stories connect us to each other. Annoying thing is that my mind has gone blank when trying to think of any stories that prove that stories matter. I’ve got loads to say but I need the personal touch to demonstrate why I believe what I believe. Time for a walk then.

What a magnificent creature. I just love the colours and patterns on those feathers. Stunning. Would make a fabulous textile design.
Had a close encounter with the urban turkeys

Celtic Knot tree.

On my walk today I ended up on one of my favourite mountain roads. A quiet narrow lane that is surrounded by ancient lichen encrusted thorn trees. They feel like they have been there since the Stone Age. Magical.

What is good in your world today?
For me the sun is out and spring is on its way - my favourite time of year.

I've just realised today's blog started with talking about blue skies and hope. Go figure! I've been seriously pondering where and how I want to show up online especially as I have so much that I want to do. I'd appreciate it if you let me know what you think! open.substack.com/pub/georgina...
Reflections in the sunshine, spring beckons and new ideas are budding.
The sun is glorious again today.

With all of the craziness in the world I can’t help feeling that more than ever is imperative we stand for individual sovereignty, autonomy, universal tolerance, acceptance of our beautiful differences and above all love.

The trouble with being a book addict & having such a huge collection of books is that it is nearly impossible to let go of any. Each you pick up you either fall in love all over again or curiosity makes you want to investigate the unknowns further. There are so few that can fly free from my clutches

Just finished reading Karen Lord’s book The Best of all Possible Worlds. It took me a while to bond with the voice of the lead character but reading about the author helped. Whilst an enjoyable read, for me it left too many unanswered questions about the various side stories within it.

It’s always a tussle between decluttering the house & dedicating time to writing & my art. I need the space to think but I also need to commit to achieving certain goals with my creative work. Then there’s the bus… but then if there were more hours in the day I’d probably add more to the list

Wait? What? 585 followers? And I haven’t even started yet.
Huge thank you to YOU
I am in the process of summarising what I’m likely to write about. I’m hoping that putting that into a pinned post will help people decide whether I’ve got anything pertinent or entertaining to offer.

A brilliant way to find your people here on BlueSky.

I’m not procrastinating! I’m quiddling!

Well today I’m not but you know… there are times… #quiddler

I’m loving reading so many fab posts from people who are doing fascinating things. Thank you for not giving up on social media and thank you for sharing your gorgeous and inspirational thoughts.

Currently working on my writing to go on Substack. The trouble is that there are so many things that I want to write about, it is hard to know where to start today. Fingers can't type fast enough!!

I absolutely love this idea. It allows serendipity to come out to play.
*off to browse books instead of doing accounts. Oops!
Sign up to the Bert’s Books Secret Santa by 30th November, and pick a book you'd like to gift to someone else.

I'll work out the best person to send that book to - and in return you'll get a book to unwrap too!

Love this. Part of my future plans is rewilding land creating sanctuary for nature. This includes people who can rewild their spirits after being part of a monoculture society for so long.
An "accidentally rewilded" 377-acre UK farm is now home to many threatened species, including turtle doves, warblers, 11 bat species, orchids + butterflies.

Such examples prove how nature can recover when we let it, and that rewilding reverses nature loss. 🌍

I’m so excited. Having real conversations with real people again. I know the potential that can come from that is awesome. It looks like my social will be a combination of Substack and BlueSky with smatterings of other places. Picture of rock heart pool on Isle of Man beach.

Amplification of what is in flow diminishes that which is in resistance. So I guess that by being here and having fun, we are amplifying all that is deliciously joyous and in its natural flow. 😍

I’m already breathing a sigh of relief being here. At last we can get back to engaging with people we actually know instead of their posts being hidden by algorithms. Will it stay that way as I follow more people and the platform grows?
