While I don't deny that bureaucracy exists, it's still amazing that Americans still don't get those in-house engineering/administrative capabilities are crucial assets in lowering the costs for everything from getting sh*t built and managing overspending.

In response to the American tariffs, I have directed government and crown agencies to exclude US suppliers from any new purchasing or procurement agreements.
